Fiona Blanc 2007
Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
Blend:
60% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne.
Position in Vineyards:
Exposed west, north-west.
Type of Soil:
Limestone, well-drained.
Average Age of Vines:
20 years.
Average Output:
30 hl/hectare for 3800 plantations per hectare.
Time of Harvest:
First week of September 2007.
Vinification Details:
Hand picked grapes. Then a light pressing is made. Afterwards we allow a natural settling for 36 hours at a temperature from 8°C to 10°C.
50% of the wine is fermented in barrels, the other 50% ferment in tanks. Afterwards, the wine ages on its sediments for six months.
Type & Size of Oak Barrels:
French oak barrels type Bordelais, second and third fill.
When Bottled:
March 2008.
Winemaker’s Comments:
Golden green colour. Lightly roasting coffee flavour, with grapefruit zest and citrus fruits tones. Wide texture well-balanced, ropy and acid at the same time.
Excellent choice for a large variety of meals, from pre-dinner to a fish sauerkraut.
