Fiona Rosé 2007
Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
Blend:
80% Cinsault, 20% Mourvèdre.
Position in Vineyards:
Exposed west, north-west.
Type of Soil:
Limestone, well-drained.
Average Age of Vines:
25 years for the Cinsault and 15 years for the Mourvèdre.
Average Output:
40 hl/hectare for 3800 plantations per hectare.
Time of Harvest:
First week of September 2007.
Vinification Details:
Mechanically picked grapes during the freshest hours of the night. Then a direct pressing is made. After a cold settling, part of the harvest is casked in third generation wine barrels and the other part is turned into wine in low temperature tanks, at 16°C.
Maturation Potential:
2008-2010.
When Bottled:
November 2007.
Winemaker’s Comments:
Strawberry heart colour. Red fruit flavours such as redcurrant and raspberry. Ethereal and slightly acid texture, limber final touch.
This gastronomic Rosé will go perfectly with grilled foods and also typical Mediterranean spicy meals.
