Frédéric Kast

Mâitre & Expressionist du Terroir

Born in 1974, Frédéric Kast grew up in Alsace, after a bachelor economic and studies in law, he made in 1994 a decisive encounter during harvest season: Albert Seltz, who became his mentor and from whom he learns rigor, respect and diversity of soils from Alsace, and the elegance and fine wines.

Passionate of different blends and regions, Frédéric then re-directed his career and his studies to viticulture and enology.

In 2000, he decided to discover other vineyards, radically different, and Languedoc was an evidence of a land full of opportunities and areas for its new quest. Then he joined Le Domaine de Montfreux Fages in Marseillan.

It is within this area that he has acquired 6 years of experience of organic viticulture in the Languedoc and established an ethic that is now that of Chateau Capion, the alliance of respect for both wines and soils.
